Tea for Two?

I can’t believe the month of July is just over halfway over! I’ve just been busy soaking up the sweet days filled with summer sun and endless possibilities.
Speaking of endless summer possibilities and whims, I’ve been craving an Alice in Wonderland inspired tea party. Lewis Carroll’s remarkable tale has been an inspiration for many both young and old. It’s captured my heart for years so far, and for many more to come.
Well enough about that, as they say, a picture’s worth a thousand words, so here’s two pictures of what would inspire my dream whimsical tea party.
Do you think Alice would approve?

The Demoiselles of Downton Abbey grace The Love Magazine

If you haven't heard of The Love Magazine, you definitely need to enquire about it. Published by Conde Nast, it's a UK based, bi annual edgy fashion pop piece of art.

Each issue publishes over 300 pages of gorgeous fashion photographs.

While perusing the internet, I came across previews of the next issue's cover, which comes out at the end of July.

Much to my surprise, the Ladies of Downton Abbey will be on different covers.

The timing is impeccable, since it was announced earlier today that Dowton Abbey received 16 Emmy nominations, including The Love Magazine cover girl Michelle Dockery, for her portrayal as Lady Mary Crawley.

I am proud to say that Downton is one of my favorite shows, and I can't wait for the Emmy's in September.

But until then, I'll be pleased to check out the upcoming issue of The Love Magazine.

Chain Suspender Tights

These are definitely not your grandmother's tights. However, these chain suspender tights can definitely be pulled off with the right outfit. The key is to keep the rest of your outfit looking modest so the tights can be showcased without you ending up looking trashy. A Parisian-Chic flair was added to Selena Gomez's outfit when she wore hers. I particularly like the Pretty Polly Chain Suspender Tights featured in the photographs below. Will you wear chain suspender tights when the weather turns colder?

Friday Favorites

While perusing the internet looking for inspiration, I stumbled across these photos.

One word: Chanel. These shoes are to die for! I love the quaint black bows and the almost transparency of them. Their definitely a work of art. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I loved the pedicure polish and pants as well.

While on the topic of shoes, I also stumbled across this gorgeous photograph. I am a huge fan of both ballet pointe shoes and Louboutins. This was a match made in heaven. Now if only I still took ballet...

I just love the feel of this particular street style look. It's fresh, effortless, and chic. This is my inspiration for my wardrobe for when I visit New York in a couple of weeks.

I want my entire wardrobe to be centered around the laid-back, yet chic and classy look. I'll definitely be taking a few notes from this ensemble.

While perusing Nordstrom's website, I instantly fell in love with these Dior cat-eye sunglasses. Their the epitome of classiness and sophistication, which I strive to live my life by everyday.

Nina Ricci Pre-Fall 2012

When June comes to a close in the next few days, we will be one month closer to the end of the summer and transition into fall. That means that it will be time to contemplate what to wear when the leaves begin to turn.

One of my favorite Pre-Fall 2012 collections is by Nina Ricci. Nina took classic ladylike staples and made them look effortless and easy for women of all ages to wear.

Classic ladylike is not just for our mothers and grandmothers anymore. The younger generation can show our superiors how we too can play the style game regardless of age.

Now that is what I call chic.

Keira Knightly as Anna Karenina

To start off blogging, I would like to note my love of Period Pieces in regards to film. It has always been a dream of mine to relive historical eras in regards to social culture, and of course, style. It is fascinating to watch the style timeline evolve over many centuries, and I adore watching historical style come to life on the big screen. That's why I'm excited to see the film adaptation of Anna Karenina later this year.

I can't wait to see the showcase of elegant, 1870's aristocratic style, especially that of the title character. Anna is beautiful, has passion, and is the epitome of an aristocratic wife. And man, does that girl know how to dress! In my opinion, I believe that Keira Knightly is Anna. I cannot wait to see the vision twice- Academy Award nominated costume designer Jacqueline Durran dreamed up for the film.

Maybe an Oscar for Best Costume Design will be in store for Ms. Durran?

Nevertheless,

my ecstasy to see the film will help me overlook the fact that the Russian accents are missing.
